The farmer and processor behind the Mas Iyan brand is Supriyanto, nicknamed Mas Iyan (Mas meaning "brother" or "mister," and Iyan being a short form of his name).
Mas Iyan was born in Kampong Kopi Kluncing, a small village in Sukorejo, Sumber Wringin district, Bondowoso region. He began growing coffee in 2006, as 99% of the people in his area are coffee farmers, and coffee cultivation has been a tradition passed down from his ancestors since the Dutch colonial era. In 2016, his coffee began production, and since then, he has continued to learn post-harvest coffee processing techniques. Mas Iyan cultivates coffee in two areas: Si Buled at 1,400 meters above sea level and Gunung Suket at 1,700 meters above sea level, growing Typica, Bourbon, and Hybrid varieties.
His daily life, especially after the harvest season, focuses on garden maintenance to ensure consistent coffee quality.
