Klasik Beans is a cooperative established in 2008 by a group of producers in the Puntang region of Java Island. This small cooperative shares common values centered on quality, respect for people, and the environment. The cooperative aims to contribute to preserving Indonesia’s cultural heritage through the production of organic, sustainable, and fair-trade coffees.
Production adheres to good agricultural practices (today, it is nearly 100% organic and entirely shade-grown). Their main facilities are located in Banding and Puntang, Java, but they also have washing stations in Pacet and Ciwidey. Additionally, they have established partnerships with local producers in Bali, Flores, and Sulawesi, gaining recognition in these regions.
In Bali, Klasik Beans collaborates with a farmer named Yon, who processes coffee on land donated by the cooperative. Yon also owns a beautiful hostel at the foot of Mount Batur. Yon shares values fully aligned with those of Klasik Beans—so much so that he has even tattooed the cooperative’s slogan on his body.
